To obtain the Professional Barista Skills certificate from the Specialty Coffee Association it is compulsory to have previously taken the SCA Barista Skills Professional course.
This exam is a complement to the course for those baristas who want to have an internationally recognised qualification. It is divided into two tests, one theoretical and one practical, where the knowledge acquired during the course is evaluated.
If passed, SCA issues a diploma certifying knowledge and skills in the barista discipline at this professional level.
